We arrived at the hotel to be told that our room was double booked and there was no room for us. Obviously this was highly annoying but we offered to stay elsewhere if they could find us a room. They did eventually in a pub half a mile further out of town. We were told this happened regularly when rooms were booked over the internet. Surely, anyone with any sense would therefore get it sorted. No apology was offered, in fact it was treated as a bit of a joke. Read less
Dislikes:
The attitude of the staff was basically "Tough luck, there is no room for you, you'll have to take a room at another hotel." This turned out to be a pub with accommodation even further out of town.

Friendly staff, especially Mel. Delicious food. Lovely house. The wedding was lovely too.
Dislikes:
The room and bed were too small for a couple. The en suite was cosy and the toilet was difficult to flush and took forever to fill again.

Friendly staff, very good value for money in a quiet area
Dislikes:
if you want the entire weekend to be restful make sure your stay does not coincide with a wedding in the hotel, even though the rooms are well soundproofed.

Stop over after a long weekend in the Highlands, prior to business visit on the Monday. Looking for somewhere convenient, reasonably priced, in a nice location (coast) where we could get an evening meal and a drink.
The Strathearn was ideal, with the added bonus of great service and really nice people. I would stay here on future trips even if it took me out of my way. Read less
