Nothing too much trouble but not in your face, just quietly available if required. Breakfast beautifully cooked both mornings of our stay. Room was lovely and relaxing with everything we needed.
Dislikes:
Having to leave!!

We had a warm welcome, very comfortable accommodation, good advice about an evening meal and an interesting introduction to the friendly alpacas. The setting is beautiful, even in bad weather.
Dislikes:
The room was just a bit on the small side, but this did not have a significant impact on the stay.

We wanted to be near Houseteads Roman Site. The room was in an enclosed annexe with lovely big bed, superb bathroom, TV with DVD library, local information, tea/coffee/real milk in fridge, drying room if required, parking. The house is a family home and breakfast is in the modern "Orangery", taken on one large table with the other guests, unusual if you are not expecting it. Charming hosts; recommended a good pub for food and booked the table for us. Would stay again. They keep Alpaccas too! Read less

Location, comfy bed, big room, friendly hosts, everything top quality & modern, quiet, good breakfast, Alpaccas and other animals around the garden. Would not hestitate to recommend & go back again.
Dislikes:
Eating on one big table was unusual and not expected - it was not a problem as the other couple were friendly and we all chatted, with the host, but some may wish for more solitude.

We have thought long and hard about putting 3 separate tables in the Orangery but concluded people would still be closeby each other so concluded there was little to be gained. I'm glad it worked out for you and most mornings there is lively chat around the table when guests select similar breakfast times.
Things are as busy as ever but we would love you to book and come back sometime. We're busy too with Alpacas as first births are due!

I recently stayed at Fairshaw Rigg for the second time and was not disappointed. Since my last visit the owners have extended the guest accommodation and added a beautiful, light-filled room for dining. This is a high quality B & B in a lovely spot, and the welcome is genuinely warm. The chickens and alpacas add to the experience. I can't recommend Fairshaw Rigg highly enough and definitely plan to return. Read less

My room was spotless and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was spacious, the shower powerful, the bed comfortable. Free mineral water and fresh milk available from fridge. Breakfast was outstanding!

From our arrival to departure we were treated exceedingly well. Our initial meeting with the owners, Paul & Kathryn was very warm & friendly which made us feel at home immediatly.

Accommodation just lacking a guest lounge, somewhere to relax, read, etc, during the day or evening.

As a B&B, rather than a guest house, we don't feel obliged to offer a guest lounge, particularly during the day. That said we are always prepared to offer the Orangery for people to sit in during the evening, if we are not using it ourselves. As with all things we try to strike a balance and your feedback is certainly appreciated.

Very friendly welcome. Good sized and confortable room. Lovely breakfast in the orangery. Excellent recomendations of where to eat in Hexham. Great to meet the animals especially the alpacas.
Dislikes:
Bathroom was a little cold.
