Dinner was stunning and it's not far back to bed
Dislikes:
For a non-cheap rate per night and - for most guests I presume - a large dinner bill, hot breakfasts should be included, not a twenty pounds per head add-on. Without it breakfast was a bit sparse

The comfortable bedroom and reception rooms, excellent food, extremely attentive, well-presented and friendly staff who made you feel 'special'.
Dislikes:
The reception rooms were a little too quiet at times and could have benefited from subtle classical background music.

The friendly staff, good service, and the convenience of staying on site for the restaurant.
Dislikes:
The only thing that deters from a first class facility is the location. Winteringham is not the prettiest of villages, and the proximity to the pub on the corner can make for a bit of a noisey evening

small quiet friendly staff

we ate lunch and then had taster menu in evening and no one thought to change some of the dishes so that we didn't have repeats, also quail nibble at beginning was same too.

The property is comfortable with beams and lots of old world character. Our bathroom was small but modern and boasts a steam/shower cubicle.
Our 2nd visit in the last 6 months; bit of an indulgence, but worth it. Read less

On arrival we were greeted in the car park and shown immedicately to our room, so we could change for dinner. Everything was fully explained and there was a welcome letter. Whilst enjoying a pre-dinner drink we were offered a free up-grade to a double room. We gladly accepted and the staff kindly moved our belongings for us. The 'new' room was beautifully decorated (but a bit chilly and with only a curtain to separate the bedroom and bathroom - didn't bother us, but may bother some people). Read less

The 2 rooms we saw were both very nicely decorated and comfortable. Obviously, excellently located if dining at Winteringham Fields. Mainly, the staff are extremely personable and professional.

A night away at Winteringham isn't cheap, but with all these things, you get what you pay for. Read less

The highlight of our short stay was obviously dinner, which was of an excellent standard. We went for the Chef's Surprise Menu, with accompanying Sommelier's wine choice, which complimented the courses well. Although the venue was out of our usual price-range, it was perfect to celebrate a special occasion. Read less

Although it's the most I've ever spent on a meal, I found it was actually good value. However, I found the additional cost for bed and continental breakfast, was excessive.
