The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the staff were all extremely pleasant.

Very comfortable room, excellent breakfast, very quiet at night despite being above a pub/restaurant.
Dislikes:
Nowhere to go in the evening - we would have preferred to be in a larger village or small town. Dinner service was slow on 1 out of 3 evenings.

the menu was poor and not very varied, poor choice on specials board - appeared to have staffing problems re the catering

Thanks for your comments. I am rather surprised to read that you didn't find our menu varied. We actually have the largest choice of any restaurant in the area. Fresh Fish, Game, Poultry and traditional meat dishes. Plus salads as starters and main course. All product is locally sourced within a 25 mile radius and delivered fresh daily. We have a low turnover of staff compared to others in the hospitality industry with several having worked at The King William since I acquired the business.Rgds

Breakfast was totally excellent, the best for some time from an hotel. We also ate dinner in the restaurant Sat night which was good and well priced.
Dislikes:
Due to one of the chefs not turning up dinner was later than we would haave liked and the owner was clearly stressed, therefore a little blunt upon our arrival, we would tho stay again as good value!
