Hello and thanks for taking the time to leave a review! I am glad you enjoyed your food once it had arrived. Everything is cooked fresh to order so depending on what you order there can be some cooking time, especially if you don't have starters, but I am sorry you had such a long wait.

We really like staying in ancient buildings - we have an inflated sense of history.

Thanks for your feedback. I am really sorry for your experience but am very surprised because on check out you were very happy and said that you would come back! You stayed with us for two nights and did not tell us that you had a problem with your room - if a guest has a problem we like to be given the chance to sort it out. You were on a month's trip and stayed at many places so perhaps you are thinking of somewhere else? Anyway, thanks for taking the time to feedback

Dislikes:
Pipe/water/toilet noise from neighbouring room's bathroom could be less. Watch the door thresholds, if you are walking and chatting you can easily catch a foot on the slightly raised thresholds.

The room at The White Hourse was wonderful...clean, comfy, tray with tea/coffee/biscs etc...the staff were friendly, professional and made me welcome. I had a meal before attending the reception, all I can say is that it's worth a 600+ mile round trip to have the slow roasted pork again :-) Excellent place to stay x Read less

The room was unique, fitting into the origonal shape of the building giving us a sloping roof. the decoration was thaught out, restaraunt food was good, atmosphere of a village pub.
Dislikes:
I would say the room we were in was too hot due to being above the fireplace in the restaraunt, but opeining the window solved that. Shower controlls were a bit irratic.
