The warmth of Martin's welcome and also the friendliness of all the staff; the beautiful room that had everything you could want; fantastic food; quiet location; cinema to watch the rugby!
Dislikes:
My only complaint is that it is a long way from our home and so we can't visit more often!

Everything was great.... The personal touch, decorating my son's pudding plate with a sparkler and a "well done" in chocolate sauce was brilliant.... He smiled like he was 5 again ;-)
Dislikes:
Leaving was horrible.... Wanted to stay longer

Possibly the slightly "early closing" arrangement of the hotel facilities, however it is very much in keeping with the audience which the hotel serves and the owners/staff need their own time!

Quiet location, lovely decor. Great bed. Great breakfast.Waiting staff are attentive and well trained
Dislikes:
Dining room floor still had evidence of previous nights dinner debris on it at breakfast time. Room was not as clean as it could have been.

No rushing (as the tables have only one sitting) escorted to the restaurant after drinks and meal was the best I have had for may years. I locked my keys in the car soon after arrival and the owner even offered to see to the RAC man if his arrival clashed with my evening meal!. Read less

If I was going to be really picky the suite I was in looked a little 'tired' but very clean and comfortable.

We loved the setting and the appearance of the mansion. This coupled with the food and the service made it a memorable stay
Dislikes:
A little bit expensive compared with other hotels in the area but then excellence does not come cheap
