The owners were very flexible regarding timing so we were able to drop our luggage off and see the room before heading off to see our family. Location is great- lovely room in a lovely house.
Dislikes:
Probably would have preferred individual tables for breakfast rather than one long table

I am sorry the table was not as you expected but Tovey Lodge is luxury accommodation in a family country home so this layout fits our intentions best. I must say many many of our guests comment that they love the comaraderie and chat at the breakfast table where guests form all over the world as well as different parts of the UK share their experiences.

Location/Privacy and a nice alternative to hotels.
Dislikes:
TV was in a strange location in the living room. Bath/shower needed a curtain to stop water soaking the bathroom.

Thanks for your review.I am glad you generally enjoyed your stay. The TV did ned to be retuned but I expect that was due to the digital switchover as it was the built-in digital freeview that did not work till it was retuned. As to the shower I am sorry if the glass screen did not seem to work for you, but it is a standard shower screen as sold for use for showers in the bath and has been found satisifactory by many other uses. I am glad these did not spoil your stay.

Needed a break to just chill out in pleasant surroudings and this was perfect in all respects. Great location just below Ditchling Beacon with wonderful views from the bedroom windows. Standard of decor and facilities were first class, and breakfast freshly cooked with locally sourced products. The big attraction for us was the pool and hot tub, had we not needed to eat we could have spent hours in there. Read less

Room was large and comfortable, great views over the downs. Hot tub was just what we needed after cycling and long walks in the surrounding area. Close to the coast and Brighton

Roy and Diane, the owners, were friendly and helpful. Extra touches such as sweets in the room, good selection of magazines in the lounge, soft underwater lighting in the pool made our stay special.

Thanks for your review - we are glad you enjoyed the stay at tovey Lodge. We agree that the sofabed should be best for youngsters as e think the Cottage is best for a couple or a couple with one or two youngsters.but we do have an extra matress if older people want to use the sofabed.
