The sound insulation between the room and bar was such that we could actually hear what people were saying even when they were not being noisy.

We were therefore unable to attempt to sleep until the bar eventually closed.
(cont) The kettle did not work, neither did the extractor fan in the bathroom. There was inadequate lighting in this dark room.

The manager was charming and friendly, the waitress staff less so. Although polite were not very friendly.
The quality of the food was very good.
Architecturally and environmentally very pleasant.

The Lamb is potentially an excellent hotel/inn but either the sound insulation should be addressed or at the very least, visitors should be warned of noise transmission in advance.

The Inn was charming and the food excellent. All three rooms were lovely. The place was obviously very popular with the locals so I would recommend booking a table for dinner especially on Wednesday e
Dislikes:
We tend to go to bed by 11:00 p.m. and some of the bar and restaurant guests were stilling strong outside on the patio.

We booked in for two night and stayed in Roman Road which is a fairly small room situated directly above the bar. It was very noisy as the bar was busy. However the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant is excellent (the tomato soup was the best i have ever tasted). We had our dog with us and the hotel is extremely dog friendly which was a real bonus.The local people were also very friendly. Read less

The Lamb Inn is a lovely Inn with good food and very friendly staff. Tracey and Paul work very hard to make you feel welcome. The down side is the Roman Room is right above the bar so if you want an early night forget it. I would return to the lamb inn but request the leoppard room as this is at the far end and away from the main bar Read less
