The bar is probably the most fascinating room at the Inn and never fails to amaze first time visitors. The old oak servery with its gleaming brass beer engines immediately stands out, whilst opposite the large inglenook fireplace makes its big presence felt, particularly in the colder months with its roaring fire. A viewing panel shows off the working cellar and its Roman floor. Old settles and pews create further interest, whilst there is a splendid collection of horse brasses too.

There is an alternative entrance to the courtyard via the garden.The bar entrance has a low concrete ramp and a inward opening door measuring 750mm wide.At the rear of the pub is a newly constructed courtyard with a feature 16th century cart lodge. The courtyard has mainly a loose gravel surface, within the courtyard there is a slab patio and a raised deck with a shelter. The step onto the deck is 220mm high.
