We are very upset that your stay was tainted with disturbed sleep on one of the nights. We are town central and the bank holiday weekends can be very busy. It is lovely that you enjoyed the homely and friendly atmosphere in our guest house and did have a pleasant Saturday night. We are disappointed in your comments about our breakfast.There are a variety of fruits provided as part of our breakfast spread in the dining area, as well as yoghurt and pain au chocolat. Our menu for cooked breakfasts consists of six different options with the flexibility of tayloring an order to suit the guest. We are open to special requests and the happiness of our guests is top priority.

A handy base to stay,with organised staff,and friendly hosts.
Dislikes:
At peak weekend times,it can be very noisy at closing times,with clubs pubs and licensed bars close by.

My wife, my mother and I stayed for 2 nights, mid-week, in June. We decided to use Matlock as a base for days out by bus in the Peak District and the Riverbank Guest House was ideal for this. It is close to some lovely restaurants and interesting shops. Not only is it conveniently located, it has a picturesque setting, with its large well-maintained garden looking onto the river Derwent and across to the park. Read less

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful as were the other staff. The 2 rooms we had were comfortable and very clean and attractive. There was plenty of information on local attractions.

Tea & coffee making facilites in the room. The en-suite shower room was of good size and the shower the best electric shower I've experienced.
Breakfast was excellent.
Comfortable 'home'.
Dislikes:
No negatives for me.
