Poppy Cottage Guest House

Poppy Cottage Guest House is a charming 17th Century Cottage, with many of it's original features still intact, and is attached to the home of Steve & Sally at Ivy Cottage Farm - a traditional 'Dales' longhouse. Awarded 4* Gold in February 2012 for 'Exceptional Quality of Accommodation and Service' and for the 2nd year running a 'Certificate of Excellence' from Tripadvisor, Poppy Cottage has the 'Unique Factor' being quite independant from the main building, yet still very homely.

Situated in the village of Carleton-in-Craven with its friendly local pub serving evening meals, Poppy Cottage is just 2 miles from the historical, market town of Skipton. We believe it is the ideal base for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the town and sample a 'cottage' style B&B, whilst exploring Skipton and the Dales. Regular buses run to and fro into the village from the town.

Sympathetically restored in 2009, each room has been individually designed and enjoys views of the countryside and hills beyond.

"For the past 3 years we have reared our own pigs here on our small farm and serve a hearty 'Yorkshire' breakfast using own 'flavoursome' sausage and bacon (which our delicious) and local produce from one of Skipton's award winning butchers and in July 2010 we received our Enjoy England - Breakfast Award in recognition of this. We are also very proud of the fresh eggs we serve courtesy of 'the girls'. We have many other options along with vegetarian all served in what was the original farm kitchen.!

"We have ample private parking for guests and lovely south-facing decked gardens, accessed from the guest lounge. Step out a little bit further to where our ducks, chickens and (during the summer months) our pigs live and you will experience the most fantastic views of Skipton and the surrounding hills and moors."
