We wanted a base for a few days in Somerset and found it at The Pilgrims with the friendly and relaxed hospitality of the owners, Jools and Sally. Our room was small, but had everything you could wish for with a wonderful wet room and high quality bed and linen. But the highest praise has to be reserved for Jools' fabulous food. Every mouthful was a joy on each of the three nights we ate there. If you go for no other reason go to experience quality local ingredients cooked with the great skill. Read less

The Pilgrims styles itself as restaurant with rooms, that's excactly what it is and it doesn't dissapoint in either area. The food which all bar the beer and ice cream are home made from local ingredients, is excellent, but not overly fussy. This is joined by a diverse wine list, with prices that won't make you opt to stick to water ! After dinner top retire totastefully furnished rooms in the converted cider house. The food is locally sourced and carefully cooked. I think that the duck breast was described as being served with "bubble and squeak" but the bed of seasonal vegetables were something much nobler.

The bath was amazing as was the breakfast.
Dislikes:
I found the bed a little to soft but that is personal choice. The TV was tiny whilst trying to watch the tennis but that is probably my eye sight!!!
