From the friendly greeting on arrival to the thoughtful attentive but not overbearing service during the whole of our stay we found nothing that spoilt our much needed break.
The meals were the high point. Dinner was up to the best standards of any London restaurant with fresh ingredients and a great creativity by the Chef. Just one point; the cheeses were not all fresh. I always find it better to offer a choice from a board rather than a plate full pieces.

A perfect location for a peaceful quality break in the heart of Devon. We enjoyed the local walking and easy access to Dartmoor. Our exclusive garden room gave the feeling of exclusivity whilst the food was of a very high standard served by polite, cheerful staff.I would recommend to anyone seeking a bit of luxury in the great British countryside. The hotel is in an excellent location to explore Torquay and the surrounding area with superb sea views (absolutely no wilderbeast!)and private gardens, a truly peaceful haven.
Dislikes:
The hotwater to the bathroom was never more than warm, a steaming hot bath was therefore out of the question!

Easy parking and friendly staff.
Dislikes:
Only fault would be that the tubs and pots on the balcony had become overgrown with weeds and spoilt the otherwise excellent ambience - easily fixed though!
