A 5 night stay to take in York races and visits to the local area and seaside resorts (to relive our youth!) Although there was some mix up with the room we had booked, Irene went out of her way to make up for it. Although we could have moved rooms later, we stayed where we were as it was so comfortable. Everything. Room was quiet, bed was very comfortable, breakfast to die for! Especially loved the rhubarb and ginger! Irene looked after us while the owners were away and could not have been nicer.

Linda I have just realised I can reply to you ! We are utterly disgusted to hear you were barred from our local pub because you told the proprietors you were not happy with the food .. The very best of eating places can't please everyone all of the time . Your complaints should have been taken constructively and in good part.
We always hope to keep our customers ...not barr them !! Hope you come and see us again anyway !!

Because of a small accident on the highway, we arrived at Newburg House at about 10.30 pm. In spite of this the owner was very friendly and welcoming, and called the local pub to make sure that we could get a late supper (which was excellent). The next morning we had a splendid breakfast served by his wife, in a charming room overlooking an even more charming garden. Read less
