It was ok but poor wifi connections and temperamental tv - sound and picture would disappear at times, so I felt a bit shut away, considering I travelled alone and could not go online. Also a lot of thumping and banging all around my room. Walls and ceilings seem very thin.
When I booked under the section of B&B, I was surprised that it was room only and did not include breakfast.
Staff were friendly and for Brighton I suppose it's reasonable value for money. Read less

We stayed for 2 nights, The New Madeira is a super hotel, in a great location, with friendly & helpfull. Excellent value for money. The next time I visit Brighton, The New Madeira Hotel will be my first choice. I've stayed at the Grand and several other hotels in Brighton, but the New Madeira Hotel is by far the best in value and just as comfortable. Read less

Dislikes:
The only drawback is the parking. Though there is limited parking available outside the hotel, it is pricey. However, there is lots of time restricted street parking outside the hotel.

Lovely comfortable bed with spotless bedding.
Dislikes:
Only the position of the room which was at the back of the hotel ... Not a very nice outlook, but I guess everyone can't have sea views.

I arrived at the hotel early and was able to leave my luggage at reception. The lift was not working and as it was virtually impossible to lift a big suitcase up three flights of very narrow stairs and landing, I was offered a seaview room on the first floor for extra per night which I thought was reasonable. There was a also an unexpected charge for the use of the hotel parking facilities which was unexpected. Allround, however a good palce to stay althogh noisy outside. Read less

The location was superb for bars and clubs and Kemp Town just at the back. The cost per night was not as expensive as I thought it would be and the staff were friendly.
Dislikes:
There were hidden extras for parking on the hotel car park. The noise of the traffic was far too loud and these rooms required insulation. The staircase & landing are very narrow.
