I have stayed in 5 star resorts in various countries and the majority of these could not match the Merchiston in terms of cleanliness. The style is lovely, nice small touches like roses in the lobby and mini cereal and milk in kitchen. The owner/s obviously take great pride in their establishment and this is so obvious the minute you walk through the door. I will definately be back and also make sure that I write a review on tripadvisor. Cheers Read less

The apartment was extremely clean and beautifully furnished. Absolutely faultless. Every little thing from washing liquid to a wide range of dvds were supplied. I cannot praise Merchiston Residence enough. The booking and check in process very easy and convenient. Friendly management- I emailed the manager and received a prompt and helpful reply. Read less

MR has a calm, relaxing, contemporary ambiance about it. Seems designed with care. Its location has great access to a wide choice of independent restaurants and shops in Bruntsfield and Morningside.
Dislikes:
Hard to find fault, being picky, found the heating awkward, didn't want to leave high all day when out but slow to heat place on return. Single glazing contributes and doesn't block traffic noise.

Unfortunately, due to the building being Listed we are unable to do anything about the single glazing, the same as many properties in the city, although very pleased that it did not affect your stay!
Apt 4 & Apt 6 have king size beds in them for future reference.

Very comfortable apartment. Safe and interesting area. Staff friendly.
Dislikes:
On the second night of our stay the family in the flat immediately above our flat proved to be a bit anti social. They came home, very noisily, around midnight and the noise continued until 1.15a.m.
