Robert welcomed us to what was to be a delightful overnight stay. We had not arranged dinner so he recommended the Blackstone in Ballymena and booked a taxi for us (it was excellent). After a beautiful night's sleep and great shower the excellent breakfast sped us on our way. Read less

Dislikes:
It's a little way out of town which meant driving or getting a taxi, but that's minor thing.

The stones outside the lodge are a killer- cant walk on them in heels haha

The entire team (you couldn't call them staff as they were more like friends) could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
Dislikes:
Due to the unseasonably cold weather, the dining room was a small bit chilly for dinner.

What a delightful surprise when we arrived at Marlagh Lodge! We were greeted by Robert, who invited us to relax in the drawing room and got us some tea and biscuits, with an invitation to relax while he finished fixing our room. Our room was lovely and spacious. Dinner, prepared by Robert, was delicious. We enjoyed the company of the other guests. We slept well and were treated to a wonderful breakfast (and a visit from the house cat) the following morning before our departure. Read less

Everything! The house is lovely and Robert and Rachel have done an unbelievable job in renovating it. Robert is warm and charming, a great host and an outstanding chef.
Dislikes:
Our only regret is that we did not have enough time to stay longer!
