It dirty & smelled musty, moldy and the room freashener was overpowering! I would have had an asthma attack had I stayed! There were empty creamer cups all over the patio outside. I was even not able to use the pueblos restroom! Again, the worst hotel in England! 10 years of traveling to the same area I've never seen Read less

the friendliness of the staff and management and the easy access to a lot of neightbouring areas
Dislikes:
we did not like the dinners offered - we only ate in on one occasion and it was not very good food and very poor value for money. Also there were no instructions for the tv in our accommodation.

We were checked in efficiently and quickly in a friendly way and showed to our room. The bar was warm and comfortable with friendly staff and the hobgoblin local ale was excellent. Several locals were in the bar which is always a good sign.
Later we had dinner in the restaurant . The food was good and the room interesting.
The bed was comfy and our room relatively quiet for such an old building although the shower needed a bit of adjusting.
A full breakfast the next morning was very tasty. Read less

The real ale was excellent . All the staff were helpful and friendly. The local regulars were a cosmopolitan mix who obviously knew the staff and created a comfortably atmosphere.
Dislikes:
The bedroom photo on the web page is deceptive...the room is much smaller than it appears. Also the bed was not King Sized as suggested on the web page. A bottle of basic merlot wine cost a lot!
