Great selection of food on the menu. The chicken/cheese/bacon pot pie was superb and perfect after a long chilly day at the IWM. Staff went out of their way to take care of us.
Dislikes:
Did not realize rooms were ground-level in back of inn; slightly disappointing, and the beams were low enough to bump our heads quite a lot, but these were minor issues.

"Perfect again!"
During a rather short trip through southern England we (that´s Dad, my younger brother and me) just had to visit the John Barleycorn, due to the very good experience from the last stays. Uncomplicated check-in, lovely rooms, a stroll around the village and an excellent dinner with a fine pint of IPA (all right, not only one...) rounded the evening off. Read less

"Opportunity to spoil ourselves without breaking the bank"
We came with another mature couple to visit Duxford Imperial War Museum - this was the nearest accommodation I could find. Duxford is a lovely little village and the village and the John Barleycorn worthy of a revisit. The entrance to the rooms was separate from the pub itself giving you your own front door. Read less

Quiet location close enough to Cambridge to use the Park & Ride into town. Dinners were imaginative and the service was attentive. Free wi-fi was appreciated by younger members of party!
Dislikes:
Really good full English breakfasts - but very little for those who prefer something different.
