Starbotton is situated one mile north of Kettlewell with its three public houses, village store, (sells everything!), and pretty church. Two lovely footpaths link the two villages and there is also a local bus service. Starbotton has its own pub, The Fox and Hounds, two minutes walk from Hilltop; its friendly staff serve good food in front of a roaring fire.

From the A59 north of Skipton take the B6265 signposted Grassington. Travel for approximately 6 miles and continue past the sign for Grassington along the B6265. Travel through the village of Kilnsey and continue following the signs for Kettlewell. Once in Kettlewell turn left over the bridge on the B6160. Travel for 1.5 miles until reaching Starbotton. Continue through the village and locate the Fox and Hounds pub on the right. Turn up the narrow lane past the pub and turn left at top.south, Skipton

Travelling from south locate the Fox and Hounds public house in Stabotton and turn immediately right. Please note this lane is narrow but perfectly passable in a regular sized car! Take a left turn over bridge where sign for Hilltop can be clearly seen and follow lower track to house.
If preferred, to avoid narrow lane, take third right turn in Starbotton, when travelling from south, follow road to top and turn left. Follow road until Hilltop sign can be seen, over bridge and up lower track.
