We spent two night here, eating in both nights. The dinners and breakfasts were delicious. We certainly hope to come …

Description

Visit Britain 3 Stars Inn

The bed and breakfast accommodation was recently acquired by Nigel and Dawn Pattinson, who until recently also ran ‘the Dog and Gun’ public house at nearby Carlton Miniott.

Renovations to the Forresters Arms have been recently carried out where care has been made only to enhance the quintessential Old Country Inn charm that the Forresters bed and breakfast has become famous for, not discounting the nine guestrooms, which are now all en-suite with television, tea/coffee, bath and shower facilities.

Next door to the B&B accommodation is the famous Robert ‘Mousey’ Thompson workshops, which is situated very close to the visitor centre. Both of our bars are furnished with some fine examples of his early work, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and will appeal to all ages. The bars are still staunchly supported by the locals, who welcome visitors, and are more than happy to wile away the nights recounting many a local tale!

Kilburn is located around 20 miles north of York centre. It is ideally located for walkers participating in the Cleveland Way. They can look forward to roaring log fires and an excellent selection of real ales, and an extensive menu incorporating local produce.

This is the heart of James Herriot Country, within the North York Moors National Park. The Forresters is well recomended as a touring base having outstsnding accomodation.
