It was a big room, a comfy bed, quiet (very quiet), nicely decorated throughout and helped us to be totally chilled out. Have already recommended it to friends. Next time we will use the pool!
Dislikes:
The TV played up, but that was incidental and did not detract from our stay.

We found the accommodation to be very relaxing and suitable for our needs. Our kids particularly enjoyed the fact that they could wander into the play area and feel at home. The neighbouring bedrooms with private door was perfect for families. Staff were very helpful and welcoming and breakfast was of a very high quality. The big screen for DVDs was a great bonus which the kids loved. Read less

The breakfast was excellent both in terms of quality and choice.
The big screen and wide choice of DVDs was appreciated by the children. They also enjoyed the choice of boardgames.
Dislikes:
Swimming pool too cold to be useable (probably because it was only just operational again after the winter) but nonetheless that was disappointing.
Shampoos/gel need replenishing daily.

Fantastic breakfast with a good choice available. Honesty bar was a nice touch though we did not use it.

The room was beautiful, the facilities fantastic and the breakfast was simply fabulous. Matt and Zoe thought of everything, they were so happy to help, offer hints and tips for the days activities.

Decided on a short family break in Devon and found the Elmfield in Ilfracombe. Booked direct through hotels website for a two nights stay. We were ungraded free of charge to the family suite due to a cancellation which was separate from the main house. Consisted of entrance hall leading to two separate bedrooms both en-suite. One having a single and double bed, perfect for our 12 and 9 year olds and the other a king size bed. Enjoyed our stay and would consider returning if back in Ilfracombe. Read less

Easily found, friendly hotel. 10 min walk into town, mostly uphill on way back. Pool good size and warm. Water and chocolate in room for kids.
Dislikes:
Bathrooms in family suite would benefit from some tlc. Noisy boiler, very uncomfortable bed in main room. Jacuzzi not working.
