"A lovely place to stay!"
I stayed here with a couple of colleagues and found it to be a fantastic little place. Didn't use the pool so can't comment on the facilities too much, but my room (2 and 1/2 - odd I know) was very large and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic and was a special request. The staff were very accommodating despite being a small team and seaming a bit run off their feet.

The honesty bar down stairs was a nice touch. It was very peaceful – great nights sleep.

Well worth a stay! Read less

"Fabulous breakfasts, friendly helpful hosts and a lovely house and garden!"
Our family of 4 had a 3 night break at the Elmfield over the Easter holidays. We didn't want to leave! The children fell in love with the hotel and its steep, sunny terraced garden immediately, and needed coaxing even to go out for a walk. My husband and I were grateful for the friendly and expert welcome from Zoe and Mark, with lots of excellent advice on countryside walks and good nearby restaurants. The family suite was ideal for us - the rooms were a good size and scrupulously clean. Read less

"Great hotel and great hosts"
We thorougly enjoyed our stay at The Elmfield from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The entrance and staircase is so bright and welcoming and beautifully renovated. We arrived earlier than the given check in time but the room was ready and Zoe welcomed us with a much needed cup of tea after our journey and delicious home made scones. We knew immediately that we had chosen well. And breakfast - what can we say? Absolutely fantastic. We came home with Zoe's recipe for granola! Wow!! Read less

"Outstanding welcome"
We had a great stay for 3 nights. We booked last minute on the internet, with no problems. We had a friendly welcome and everything we asked for was catered for. The Elmfield is nto a standard hotel as it offers a personal family welcome from Zoe and Matt. If you are looking for a mainstream hotel experience, this is not for you. But, if you appreciate care, attention to detail and a family friendly welcome, then this is the place! We had a great time. Read less

But it was a lovely large comfortable room with a table and armchairs, right at the top of the house. The breakfasts are wonderful. The homemade granola is delicious.
Dislikes:
We didn't use the pool as its down a long steep and winding path, at the bottom of the garden. I didnt fancy walking back up cold and wet.The pool house is heated and roomy with a loo, no shower.
