We stayed on from Thu 9th (afternoon to Sat 11th (1000am) December - we had an evening meal on the 9th. The food was very good, especially the roast chicken. The service (from Victoria and Ryan) was attentive and resposive. The 2 real ales were both very good. The room was in the annexe to the main buiding on the second floor - the bedrom was fine though the bathroom was very small (given the space available this was probably as big as you could build it) Read less

The sense of history, tradition gave it a nice ambience.
The service was very good - pleasant and really helpful staff.
Dislikes:
The car park was very icy - potentially dangerous. The bathroom was very small (we were in room 7 - maybe the other en suites are bigger)

the lovely warm feeling you got when first entering the hotel, the decor,the surrounding grounds, everything about it was beautiful
Dislikes:
the only small critisism the evening menu didnt have much choice, not much vegetarian choice also at breakfast maybe you could put a few yoghurts suitable for veggies

My First impression was absolutley perfect for the reason we went 'wedding anniversary' it looked peaceful, tranquil and the perfect place to unwind and relax. Got very worried though after travelling nearly 70 miles to find were not actually booked in, the receptionist was brilliant though and soon allocated us a room in the mill itself, the room was perfect, the food was first class, got to try Shirleys steak and kidney pudding mmmm and the breakfast was first class. The character of the mill is so rustic but warming at the same time. lovely loft rooms full of old'y world'y charms and beams, the restaurant was excellent and the overall service was brilliant.

The conversion of the mill buildings had been carefully done to preserve the character of the buildings.
Dislikes:
The restaurant lacked charm and was quite souless for the menu that it described. It brought to mind an '80's pub.

Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Evening meal was nice. We had to change rooms due a noisy wedding disco - but this was dealt with immediately.
