Self Assessed 3 Stars Guest House

We currently offer three high quality rooms, with a further two to be opened later this year, The guest accommodation is in this spacious Edwardian property which has all been recently refurbished to a high standard and sympathetic to the period

Walton on the Naze is one of the most friendly coastal towns in the country, the Bucket and Spade is at the north end of the town on the quiet route to the Naze Tower. The house is full of old world charm and has and is being put back to its original Edwardian style.

You will receive a warm welcome from Marlene and John and they strive to offer the best quality stay experience, with clean comfortable rooms, locally sourced food. the breakfast eggs have very low food miles. They come from hens at the bottom of the garden

What to do in Walton? First and foremost is the Blue Flag Beach (2014), Golden sands gently sloping, which makes for safe swimming. Toward the Naze Tower end at low tide there are rock pools for children to explore.

Various water sports are available around the area. Wind surfing, Kite surfing, Sailing and Fishing. In the summer there is a boat trip available on most tides to see the wild life on Hamford Water, Seals and many varieties of sea birds inhabit these waters. In autumn and spring migratory birds come and go.

If walking is your thing then the Naze point makes a great walk, on the way round you will experience the vastness of the North Sea from the small cliff tops, going on to overlook Hamford Waters and then back to the Bucket and Spade for tea.

The Naze Tower is of special interest copy and paste the following link . Other areas of interest are the Beth Chatto Gardens (Chelsea Flower Show winner many times over) only 7 miles, Mistly Towers, Flatford and Pin Mill (constable country) and Dedham were you can row down the river in a hired olden style rowing boat (ladies don't forget your parasol) all within a half hour drive.
