We spent two nights at Bryn Melyn to explore Barmouth and the surrounding area. The guest house is up and away from the bustle of Barmouth with stunning views across the estuary from our room, the dining area, lounge and terrace. We stayed for 2 nights here and really enjoyed it.
The Hotel is situated perfectly by the estuary and mountains in a beautiful little seaside town. A much more quiet and pleasant area than the main National Park area.
Staff were warm and welcoming, friendly and helpful!
Guest House was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well decorated.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.
Take the Ardudwy Way walk for breathtaking views, hard work but so worth it! Read less

We especially liked the stunning views of the estuary from our room with a bay window to sit upon and take it all in.
The extra bathroom and radox was a god send after a day of walking!
Dislikes:
The only tiny hitch was the long steep walk up the hill to the hotel from the town. However we were on a walking holiday so can't complain too much...

Overnight stay to do some cycling in the local area. Found the hosts very friendly and welcoming. Our room was scrupulously clean (all important as far as we are concerned) and up to date also a good size with a superb view. The guest house overall was really nice, great garden and our breakfast (the full welsh) was delicious. Read less

Superb breakfast. Great view. Feel we cannot give an in depth review as we only stayed one night so this is just a snapshot really.
Dislikes:
The hill! However, we would not have had the view without being high up so we shouldn't complain!

"Highly enjoyable stay at a picturesque and tranquil location"
Our group (5 males in their early to mid 20s) had just climbed to the summit of Mount Snowdon, and after a particularly uncomfortable preceding night of camping, we were looking forward to something relaxing. Three of us were allocated a room with stunning views overlooking the bay and mountains, which was adequately spacious and had 3 single beds. The other two gents were in a room with one single and one double bed, and were equally satisfied. Read less

"Friendly, clean and very comfortable"
I stayed here for two nights as a base. It was very well located for access from Cardiff (less than 3 hours by car), and onward access to Snowdonia and north Wales. A lovely room with a lovely view across the Mawddach Estuary. Friendly staff and host. The free wi-fi throughout the building was excellent for me to be able to work on my laptop either in my own room or in the bar. The breakfast was cooked to perfection. The guest house has a simple decor but spotless and well maintained. Read less

"Wonderful stay, highly recommend!"
We stayed at the Bryn Melyn just one night during our family vacation to the British Isles. The guest house was wonderful, and the service excellent. We arrived late in the evening, nearly 9:00 pm, but the owner was as gracious as could be. Learning we were from America, and braving the roads of the UK on our own, the owner provided us with a Google map and directions for a most spectacular drive through Wales, which turned out to be our favorite part of the trip! Highly recommend! Read less

Very friendly and relaxing stay, David and Heather are excellent hosts being helpful and also knowledgeble about the local area and what to do especially regarding the weather. The house is in a great and commanding position overlooking the Mawdach Estuary and its famous bridge. Rooms tasteful and well specced. The veggie breakfast was superb and the full Welsh looked good too. Overall facilities are great with good car parking. Read less

THe view of the Estuary and bridge was a real bonus and the veggie breakfast was the best I have had, the addition of grilled haloumi cheese to compliment the veggie sausage works and tastes great.
