Evening Meals and Breakfasts are chosen from varied menus and are served at individual tables in our light. bright dining room. The cosy guest lounge - where you can have a drink, and take your after-dinner coffee - has great views over the extensive terraces and gardens towards Gilsland village and Hadrian's Wall. A log-burning stove provides warmth and cheer in the winter. Drinks and snacks can be taken on the terrace or in the gardens in the summer.

  • Support for the Mobility Impaired
    Our Victorian house is built atop a hill and has a total of 7 steps and a slope from car park to front door. Three bedrooms are on the first floor, with a wide wooden curved staircase to reach, and one bedroom is on the second floor via another staircase. The location, position and style of the house would make it difficult for anybody with moderately-severe mobility problems to use the facilities with the degree of comfort we wish to afford all our guests. Please advise us of any impairment which may impede your ability to respond to alarms or to exit the building so that we can ensure extra care in case of emergency.
  • Support for the Visually Impaired
    We are sensitive to the needs of guests with visual impairments, and will quietly and naturally offer any personalised assistance and hospitality necessary on request - for example, large print menus, and we are happy to describe menu options aloud, provide higher-wattage lightbulbs where useful, etc. Please advise us of any impairment which may impede your ability to respond to alarms or exit the building so that we can ensure extra care in case of emergency.
