Stayed for work and loved the location and friendly feel on arrival. The view from the room was lovely as was the decor in the duck egg blue nelson lookout. Room was up quite a number of stairs so probably not too good for elderly or those with dodgy knees but it was very comfy, warm and had a host of treats including a yummy chocolate treat. Read less

I was working in Southend and wanted somewhere stylish and quiet. This hotel is a gem, small, beautifully appointed, friendly, comfortable beds, breakfast served at an hour that was not too early,in a lovely location, in fact for me it was a perfect place to stay.the hosts were friendly without being too intrusive.I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone, and if I go to Southend again, i will most definitely stay there again. The weather was not favourable for the whole stay but we did manage a lovely walk into Leigh on sea and back again on the saturday with a bit of shopping thrown in. Great location, central to the beaches,shops,pubs and restaurants,also close to the station if using that.Friendly family run hotel with good facilities. The tea and biscuits came in handy in the room

relaxing environment, breakfast was lovely enjoyed our short stay and would come again. Was given a warming welcome and every time we interacted with staff they was always friendly.

We arrived and the gentleman was so friendly.. Just asked what room we had booked and took us to it.. No questions, not even asked for a name.. So trusting and polite.
Dislikes:
The shower dials were a little stiff to use, but only a minor point!
