our bedroom was elegant, furnished to a very high standard. the owners were very friendly,pleasant and very helpful.the dining room and the service there was excellant. no children allowed, good!!!

I fancied a trip down memory lane and decided to stay in Shanklin. I am pleased to say that Jackie and Bill at the Birkdale made that trip most enjoyable by being attentive hosts. As I regularly frequent B&B's through work I can honestly say the Birkdale is in my top 5. Great Location, Clean & Comfortable room with a good shower,sitting room open to all,(the sweet bowl is a thoughtful touch), all that and a lovely generous breakfast. Read less

Jackie and Bill were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were lovely,the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was great. Thank you for a lovely stay,we would definately return.
Dislikes:
The only drawback to this hotel was the lack of outside space to sit and take in the view.
