Our stay was delightful a wonderful welcome from owner Julie we stayed 3 nights & 3 wonderful breakfasts we had wall-to-wall sunshine which made our stay perfect! The room was well appointed and modern decor & the bathroom was terrific, we both commented on the spotless accommodation. We opted for full English first morning well cooked & piping hot with lovely chunky brown toast. Next 2 days we both had the smoked haddock & poached eggs both prepared to perfection. Our hosts were friendly, attentive without being conspicuous – the offer of a lap-top and a fan in our room to keep it cool during the sunshine hours just 2 examples of personal service.
Dislikes:
Our 1st trip to the North Yorkshire coast was a great success, we shall be returning next year for more walks across the moors and along the rugged coast but only if we can get a room at The Alexander

very clean,friendly,lovely atmosphere.The food was out of this world,I would recomend paying for evening meals.Home cooked meals,cooked to a high standard,providing and catering for all individuals.
Dislikes:
I can honestly say!I have no negative comments about the hotel and my stay.

We are very confused and dissapointed with this review, on one hand its first class with a grade of 5 and on the other 4's for individual grades! First with regards to value it's ALWAYS best value if you telephone us and book direct, second is our cleaniness is second to none and not just on the day of arrival, third location, picked by the guest.

From the very moment we arrived we felt so welcome and every need was attended to. Our room was really spacious and clean, the bathroom was modern and the food - well - amazing! We only had breakfasts but it felt like we had eaten three meals in one. It's surprising what you can eat when you don't think you can to start with! The owners are really lovely people and anyone who plans to go there should thoroughly enjoy themselves. The hotel is in a wonderful position in Scarborough. Read less

The position in Scarborough was very important to us - it was very close to the beach, and the open-topped bus was always there, waiting, to take us from one bay to the other. That is an added bonus

Only able to have a quick overnight break, found this hotel on a search and were lucky that they had a deluxe room available. We were actually early for check in but were welcomed with a pot of tea and biscuits in the lovely lounge area while the room preperation was completed. The room was lovely, spacious and very nicely decorated and lived up to the "luxury" tag. I have stayed at more expensive hotels which were nowhere near as nice. Breakfast was a highlight, one of the best I've had. Read less

the only (very) minor gripe would be that the dining room is small and felt a bit cramped during breakfast, maybe it would be possible to stagger the breakfasts so that guests are not all in at once
