It was quiet at night and within easy reach of the beach and town centre.
Dislikes:
The pillows and bedding was a bit noisy. A lot rustling noise as anyone tossed and turned in bed. The view from our windows was not the best.

Yes basic we tell you that that is reflected in the cost.
Drunks, no more than any other large town in the summer.
Drug rehab, there is one nearly a mile away in the town so not sure what you mean by that.
You did not meantion en-suites wifi free parking tea/coffee gardens , tennis, bowls, mini golf, cafe etc 50 meters away or the sea less than half a mile

We were only staying for a night as we had a friends wedding to go to, we were looking forward to our stay. The room was unwelcoming, we didn't feel safe as the lock on the door was poor and hard to lock. The bedding was stainded we didnt want to sleep in them.There wasn't any hot water in the evening or the morning. Overall wasn't very impressed. Read less

4 bedded ensuite room tea/cof wifi, tv for a rate of £12.92 per person, ! the building had 60 guests leave the day she arrived, and the building is plumbed for 60 so there is always hot water. Door locks are new, USA locks not UK so very easy "push button and turn to lock" keys open the locks they do not lock them.
Sheets are fitted style used then washed, folded, then put on beds never dirty not ironed as this is a budget building if you expect 5* you will be upset. but clean and great value

I could be diplomatic with this reply but after 23 years I think it is about time I just answered the comments as I feel, this building is used for groups at weekends so is multi bedded, this is how we can let the rooms to large family’s at a budget price midweek, one room has eleven beds two bathrooms, how can this be small.
Not all rooms have wardrobes but hanging rails as groups do not use them and as I have stated in every description, budget accommodation clean and great value but not 5*

Well my office lady got upset about this one! she hates the word dirty as she knows better. After 24 years we know how to change a bed!. Rooms are not 5* that's why it's called budget but clean with sat TV wifi en-suite tea coffee and close to sea, shops etc. Rooms are painted spring and Autumn not in the summer as they are never empty.
Great budget room's for families with 2 or more children. Book early as we fill very quickly, mostly with guest's who have been before.

I think this lady has left a review for the wrong Hotel, The Lodge does not provide breakfast and the closest room to the road is 30 foot away and everything is double glazed.
I think she might have been traveling around and placed this review for the Lodge instead of another hotel she stayed at.

because the hotel is on a busy walkroute itgot a little noisie late at night, and perhaps double glazing in lower hotel rooms would help, keep the noise to an exceptable level

No childerns tv. No hot water to start with had to get staff. Dirty bed sheets. Not clean.

Sorry you feel like this, but as explained you were the only people in a building meant for 60. Hot water is not instant, it takes time to come through the pipes, especially if you are the only people in the building. As for dirty sheets, i am afraid to say you are talking rubbish, and if you thought they were dirty why did you not mention it? If you wanted childrens TV why did you not ask? If you have a problem talk to us and we deal with it immediately. It is not good after the event.

Manager was a little aggressive with me on arrival about payment, as others hadn't paid when they left. I argued that I wouldn't usually have to pay before I've even seen the room. He agreed and it was fine after that. Pleased we had a maid come in and do the rooms which I wasn't expecting. Location not great for families, with lap dancing club round the corner, very seedy and wouldn't walk round there at night. Good location for everything else we needed. Read less

Simple, clean and cheap, central for everything. Would come aagain but just with adults.

Area not very pleasant and not ideal for kids.

As explained on line bookings gives us no details and so if (and it has never happened) a guest leaves without paying then we have lost money. We therefore along with all the large hotels take money on arrival or take a swipe of a credit card, its not personal its business.
Not sure what you mean about lap dancing club its in another road and is an upmarket operation with only a door on street level and not open mid week.
Gardens and park a 100 mt away for the children sea less than 800 mt away
