We wanted to spend a couple of days in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and decided to book a family room in the Countryman for our three kids and us. The pub was easy to find and had parking around the back. The room was nicely furnished and very comfortable with a sizeable and modern en-suite, TV and digital radio. Read less

The service was friendly and unobtrusive and the room fitted the family well. The pub was fairly quiet so didn't disturb us (though our stay was on a Sunday and Monday night).
Dislikes:
Breakfast was fine (cereal, yoghurt etc). We are vegetarians and the cooked breakfast could have done with a little more mushrooms etc to compensate for the lack of veggie sausages.

A lone traveller, I was made to feel very at home. The room has been recently refurbished to a high standard for a country village Inn. Masses of space, comfortable bed and modern bathroom. This pub is ideal for outdoor sporting enthusiasts as well as tourists.
Breakfast cooked option was limited to a full English, but was tailored to suit me on the morning by the friendly staff. The inn does not promote its green features: solar hot water and low energy lighting, plus locally sourced food. Read less

Solo travelling for a woman is not always easy, but I was impressed by how the staff went out of their way to pass the time of day, without it being oppressive.
The room was unexpectedly smart.
Dislikes:
My room was over the public bar and therefore prone to noise intrusion. I was staying midweek and was not disturbed in the least, but it could have been intrusive at the weekend possibly.

Nothing too much trouble for any of the staff including waiting and cleaning staff. All made very welcome especially granddaughter.Room clean and spacious.Ate from early diners menu vgood value
