Mostly the novelty, like living in the past. The serving staff were very efficient. The food was good.
Dislikes:
Found the silence in the restaurant a bit un-nerving. There was no background music and diners seemed reluctant to make any sounds.

The quality of the service was excellent, the staff could not have been more helpful or polite.
The food, be it Sunday lunch in the restaurant or sandwiches in the bar, was all a very high standard
Dislikes:
Nothing at all was wrong - it was all perfect.

The atmosphere, location, food, beautiful cozy fireplaces and seperate intimate lounges. Reception staff welcoming.
Dislikes:
Some staff were inexperienced & lacked motivation about their surroundings when you take into consideration that's what you're paying for. Some of the decor was unnecessary & clashed. Has potential.

Dislikes:
Unfortunately, the guest in the room next to mine was rather old and didn't get around much. Her TV was on, full blast, much of the time! But I had earplugs with me, as always when I stay in a hotel

Everything. Love the magic and character of the place. Love the open fires - the smell is beautiful, we especially love the Mermaid at this time of year, it really makes you feel festive.
