Rye is a historic town in a part of Sussex rich in Castles, Abbeys, Forts and Museums. In Rye itself there are museums at the Town Hall and Ypres Castle. There is also Lamb House, once the home of Henry James. A short drive will take you to Bodiam, Hastings, Battle, Brighton or Canterbury, all steeped in history. If travelling south on the A21, take the B2089 to Rye.
