Friendly welcome - although a bell at reception to summon someone would be helpful. Modern bright bedroom, very clean and with all facilities - signs of mould in shower, on ceiling and window frames need sorting out, probably due to lack of ventilation as the extractor in the en suite did not work ! Very friendly staff and a really good hot breakfast. Would have been nice to have an evening meal available - food serving stopped at 1800 apart from the Mexican Night which was excellent ! Read less

Staff - exceptionally friendly/helpful. Good location.
Dislikes:
Bar area bright/modern, hotel area dowdy/paintwork grubby looking. NEW windows NEEDED. Towels - very clean but seen better days! Tiny toiletries choice. No room phone. Cups/saucers instead of mugs.

A major refurbishment is under way and should be completed by summer 2012. Can't win with cups vs mugs, previous feedback complained about mugs so we switched! Very pleased that the guests enjoyed their stay. Thank you.

Came for two night break to visit Chester for the first time. Lovely city with some great shops but just enjoyed walking around and had a lovely meal down by the river. Also had a great day at the zoo… Read more

A very relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Enquired about directions and taxis to the zoo and not only did the owner sell us cheaper tickets he also gave us a lift there!

it is convenietly placed for what we wanted from our stay. the breakfasts was lovely, and plenty of it.
Dislikes:
we had to punch a code in the door to get back into the hotel after 11pm there was no lighting at this door which made it impossible to see the numbers on the key pad.:-(

the only downsides were that the beds were exceptionally hard and it was fairly noisy as we were at the front over the bar

Excellent location to walk into Chester. Bar area and seating outside great especially on a summer day. Could not find any fault at all.
