From the moment we arrived, I realised this was no ordinary B&B. Due to an unforeseen problem with a neighbouring room (caused by the occupants), we were left with no electricity/shower when I was due to be on parade Morris Dancing at 11.30; Dianne, bless her heart, loaned me the use of her private shower which was working (with candle accompaniment, due to lack of electricity/ light). This is somewhere quite unique where the customers definitely come first. Read less

Clare House is very central,just off Shore Road. The breakfast menu is extensive & cooked to order, which you submit the evening before, to ensure it's not overcooked,+ you get home-cooked bread.
Dislikes:
Parking might have been a problem but we found somewhere at the top of the hill. Having said that, this was Festival weekend so I'm sure that, at any other time, you could probably park very close.

The fabulous breakfast which is prepared freshly sets you up for the day. Perfectly located in the the centre of town, we highly recommend Clare House. Read less

Everthing was just as it should be spotless and cosy rooms with everything we needed. Good location and delicious breakfasts.
Dislikes:
Only problem was not the fault of the owners but Saturday night was very noisy until about 3.30 presume this all the people outside the restaurants and bars.

There is limited parking and we eventually found a space at the top of a steep hill. This was not a problem for us, but might be for anyone elderly, disabled ( or unfit!)
