Faultless from start to finish in all aspects. Spacious and well-decorated room, spotlessly clean, modern bathroom, Attractive lounge area and conservatory as well as the dining room, finishing touches such as fresh milk for tea and coffee in the room and a bowl of fresh fruit provided. We also had an evening meal which is a set menu and needs to be pre-booked, and that was delicious.

There was nothing not to like. The location was so peaceful and relaxing. The bed was so comfortable, better than anything I have experienced in a big hotel. The breakfast filled us up for the day.

We wanted a base for visiting family and friends around Newcastle and Gateshead, whilst offering easy access to the A1 and road links. We stayed 2 nights in this idyllic setting which felt miles from anywhere. Brenda could not have been more friendly and welcoming. One evening (Sunday) we needed a meal and found one within a ten minute drive near Causey Arch. Would have liked to visit Beamish museum but time was too short. Read less

We were looking for a place with high standards and we certainly found one. The room was spacious with more cupboard and drawer space than we have ever had. Breakfast was freshly cooked & substantial.
