Large comfortable rooms, very good traditional English breakfast, easy parking, pleasant restaurant available for evening meals. Staff friendly and helpful. Owls hooting at night was a welcome sound!
Dislikes:
Some may be disturbed by the proximity of the railway, others will enjoy the comforting sound of a passing loco.

Although only 30 miles from home we booked in simply so we could enjoy the walk from Warden to Hexham and back, then a pleasant dinner and a drink without the worry about driving home.... Read more

The food in the pub/restaurant is excellent. Rooms are clean and quiet (despite the railway line being very close by).
Dislikes:
The time slot for breakfast was only one hour (8am-9am) which was restrictive. Also dinner is only served in the pub until 8pm. NOt sure if this was due to it being the Bank Holiday weekend.

The time for breakfast is usually 7.30 until 9am but on request can be re arranged to suit individual needs, as we serve food all day the 8pm for dinner only applies to a Sunday evening.

The modern large, clean,light,airy room. The friendly staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble,the fresh local food, superbly cooked and served and of course the picturesque location.
Dislikes:
Nothing, we'd stayed in 2 hotels earlier on this trip
and would be hard pressed to fault either, but the Boatside was exceptional.
