The room was excellent size with a large comfortable bed. We had dinner in the busy restaurant where we were looked after very well. The surrounding area is lovely.
Dislikes:
One of the bath taps was dripping which we mentioned when checking out.

"We would stay at Boatside Inn again."
The accommodation (Hadrian) was very warm and comfortable, well appointed and tastefully decorated. The "courtesy tray" was the best we have ever experienced. Our stay was a celebration of our honeymoon and both our birthdays. The owners and staff made this celebration something very special indeed. This was our first visit to Northumberland, but we will be back and staying at Boatside Inn too. Read less

The location. The home-cooked food which in variety, quality and quantity would have satisfied the most hearty trenchermen. The friendliness and efficiency of the owners and staff was superb.

Great location and nice friendly feel to the bar.
Dislikes:
Added money for our dog which was not mentioned anywhere. Also they said we had a free starter and main meal on our first night which turned out to be the cheapest meal free
Response from The Boatside Inn:
Dogs are welcome on a discretionary basis. Clients normally call to ask if they are welcome and at this stage they are advised that there is a charge. We noticed on your arrival that you had a dog so the charge of £15.00 was added to your account. The winter warmer special offer includes the tabled'hote menu on the first night as advertised. We also extended this to the Mothersday menu with your arrival on Sunday 18th March. This includes a two course meal for 2 people.

"An excellent place to stay in Northumberland"
We had two nights booked and the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom facilities were beyond our expectations. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept so well. The bar and restaurant were very nice, good quality real ales and the food was well cooked and presented and the portions were most generous in quantity. All the staff were very pleasant and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Read less

Everything from the room to the food to the real ales to the resident big dog that frequented the bar! The breakfast was especially very tasty and filling.
Dislikes:
Lunch time in the restaurant was very noisy due to a number of babies crying. However the staff relocated us to a really nice table in the bar area near the wood burner which was a lot more pleasant.

Great location and very friendly staff. Very good room and excellent beer. Great breakfast.
Dislikes:
We were not keen on some of the food in the restaurant. The pate tasted a little odd and there was far too much liver served as a portion! In contrast th black pudding and fish and chips were great!

"A wonderful weekend"
We wanted to spend a few days in the NE and found The Boatside, the room was great & very clean, it had eveything that we needed, the staff were very friendly, the location was so relaxing and the surronding area was beautiful. The food in the pub was excellent and the breakfast was more than enough, we thought our short break was very good value for money. We will certainly visiting the Boatside Inn again Read less
