At end of travel and on arrival at Drem Farmhouse we requested and were promptly delivered to our room a most refreshing pot of tea. From that moment, we were charmed by owners, staff,and other residents.
The property,rooms and service were perfect for us.
The grounds were most interesting with the trees,shrubery and flower beds, along with the friendly horses at fence looking for attention from us.
We enjoyed our wedding party in Berwick and appreciated our stay at Drem Farmhouse - Drem. Read less

Yes and I must regrettably say - the only and most concerning problem encountered was:-
The exiting from Front Gate Entrance on to the main road,this was totally blind to the oncoming traffic.

At breakfast I would have liked the host to take our cooked order first and bring the toast and coffee after the cooked order, so that they did not get cold, but although I asked for coffee later, she always brought it first. .To the pionts that she made first of all the heating,I was unawear of this and would have turned it up for her.The party in question was for Hogmany and both she and her husband were informed and also invited to join in some Scottish hospitallity. I found it difficult to know what to prepare for her breakfast as she did not eat sausage ,bacon, egg or tomatoes.I tried by giving her as requested haddock,mackeral and haggis also I provided cereals,juice fruit yughurts and wheat free breads

Drem Farmhouse is a large Georgian house set in the picturesque conservation village of Drem, located in the heart of East Lothian, surrounded by golf courses, beaches and within easy reach of Edinburgh.
It is the family home of Hugh and Marlene Smith who welcome their guests for Bed and Breakfast (evening meals available with advance notice). The house is comfortable and beautifully decorated through out with a dinning room , drawing room and a large sun room all over looking the extensive gardens. Adjoining the main house is 'The Bothie' providing self catering accommodation, for up to four people, on weekly basis.
The Bothie has its own sheltered courtyard with outdoor furniture and barbeque. From the courtyard there's access to the upper part of the garden where amongst the shrubs and trees you can discover the ancient ivy-covered remains of a medieval Knights Templar chapel.
Drem's location, in the heart of East Lothian, is perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside. With over twenty golf courses in the area, including Muirfield Links, East Lothian is a golfers paradise, however there are many other attractions for non-golfers.
Edinburgh is only 25 minutes by rail (Drem station 5 minutes walk from the house) and slightly longer by road and has everything you would expect from such a historic capital city. The best times of year to visit are Hogmanay and during the Edinburgh festival (on for the whole of August). Other attractions include the Castle, Hollyrood Palace, The new Scottish Parliament and the Royal Yacht Britannia at Ocean Terminal.
