Everything - the friendliness, the food, and the whole ambience of Holmlands. It is really good to have a B&B which serves an evening meal instead of having to go in search of one after a long journey

Just a one night stay for myself and my dog on route to a dog show at Lanark. We were greeted with hot coffee in front of a log fire, tis was most welcome after a long drive. Opposite there was a super enclosed field where Fred could let off steam. A very dog friendly place run by dog people. Read less

Built in 1903, this interesting Edwardian property sits in an acre of land surrounded by rolling hills of the Clyde Valley. It is such a great place for a short break any time of year.

Holmlands is an ideal location for an overnight stay to or from the Highlands and Islands. With direct access to the M74/M8 and the A702 Biggar to Edinburgh road. We are close to the Sustrans National Cycle network and is popular with cyclists breaking their journey from Lands End to John O Groats. We are also near to the Southern Upland Way and Tinto Hill so we provide a great centre for a variety of interesting walks. We welcome cylists and motorcyclists, Holmlands is an ideal 'pit-stop' for cyclists on the Lands End to John O' Groats run and there is secure overnight parking for bicycles and motorbikes. Fly fishing is available on the Clyde River for wild Brown Trout and Grayling, permits can be purchased from the village Post Office in Crawford. Graham can assist with Fly Casting tuition if required. There is also wild brownie fishing to be had on the Camps Reservoir, permits from the Keepers Cottage on Camps Road.

The scenery is beautiful and interesting and many fantastic walks are to be experienced in this area.

Our breakfast has become legendary among our repeat guests, eggs are supplied from our own free range hens and they like to welcome all our visitors. Evening meals are available throughout the year, food is freshly prepared on site from local produce or from our own kitchen garden. Venison, game, chicken and beef are also sourced locally. Vegetarian dishes are available and special dietry needs can be catered for.

There are five elegant bedrooms available to guests at Holmlands, they are twins, families or doubles plus one single room, and all offer: En-suite facilities, Views of the gardens or the River Clyde, Tea and coffee-making facilities, A Colour Television with DVD.
