Likes:
Underfloor heating, wood fire, TV in each bedroom... everything about Eva's cottage is fantastic.
Dislikes:
The fully-functioning and stocked kitchen is a waste because you're not allowed to cook or eat anything in the cottage. Also, it isn't really a cottage - more of an extension to the main house,

"Absolutely lovely!"
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like nothing was too much trouble. The dining/sitting room with it's floor to ceiling windows is stunning. On a chilly day with the impressive log burner going you could happily sit in the squashy sofas all day!
Our room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. Good choice of cereals/fruits at breakfast and the cooked element was delicious. Would definitely stay here again. Read less

This superb guesthouse, now featured in 'The Good Hotel Guide' not only provides some of the best bed and breakfast accommodation in Cumbria, but can also provide clients with meeting and conference facilities. Probably more important than any of the many tangible qualities of Willowbeck, will be the warmth of our welcome and friendly companionship in this 'home from home''... there can be no doubt that you will enjoy a wonderful stay.

We offer 6 ensuite rooms, 2 of which are super-deluxe (larger with spacious ensuite including a corner bath & separate shower) and they all have lovely views overlooking our lake. Each bedroom is comfortably furnished in a contemporary style with a flat-screen television, broadband connection, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities.

Our breakfasts are certainly worth getting out of bed for and are prepared from fresh local produce whenever possible. We will make every effort to accommodate individual dietary needs.
We also provide a superb dinner from a set menu, served around 7.30pm. If you wish to take dinner, you can let us know at breakfast, along with any dietary requirements you may have. Dinner costs £25 per head.

There is a large flat-screen television in the lounge, with DVD, Video players and a selection of board games and cards.

Our boutique hotel nestles among mature willows, beech and oak and is situated close to Carlisle and M6, within easy travelling distance of the Lake District and Hadrian's Wall. The large natural pond in front of the property provides a habitat for a huge variety of wildlife; regular visitors include kingfishers, heron and a variety of wild fowl.

There is a local pub, village shop/post office and hairdresser in Scotby, as well as pubs and restaurants in neighbouring villages. We are happy to provide a local taxi service. We'll pick you up again (if it's not too late!).
