Beautiful room, well appointed. Great breakfast almost 5 star with a bit of effort
Dislikes:
Badly needs maintenance.light bulbs not working. whilst room was excellent it smelt of drains, not surprising as the shower overflowed. Blocked drains? Top of the range shower, fitting out was DIY

The Breakfast and Some Staff
Dislikes:
Hotel is in need of updating. The on suite was very small with a very poor shower.
All of the staff were friendly with the exception of one lady with curly hair and glasses who is rude.
Response from The Sir William Fox Hotel:
with response to this review the comment made about the rude lady with the curly hair and glasses was not a member of staff and was infact a hotel guest.
The hotel is a grade 2 listed building with the interiors in keeping with the traditional feel of the hotel.

"I was very dissappointed"
We have stayed at this hotel before and were happy to stay again. Unfortunately the welcome we got was cold. The room at first glance seemed lovely, large couch, twin beds. The bathroom loooked lovely, that is as far as it goes. When you drain the bath, the water comes back up the shower and it smells terrible. We went for breakfast at 8.30 and was given a look that could kill. Breakfast itself was Okay, fresh coffee would have been nice. Yoghurt warm and ham curled up. Read less

I loved the size of the room, it was lovely. The bathroom was also nice with a bath and shower (shower not useable though). Very central and parking.
Dislikes:
The staff are not very nice. We arrived and I was given a book dated 2008 to sign in, I pointed it out and she said, the owner/manager is off sick and she has not left anything else. Dissappointed.
