only thing that slightly spoilt it was the comment from the lady who cooked our breakfast which we'd booked for 9am, who when we appeared at 8.55 said,"another 5 mins, it would have been "manyana"

The Perch & Pike is on the Ridgeway Hiking Trail which follows the road past our front door and many walkers take advantage of our outdoor garden to refresh themselves with a hearty lunch and a glass of Brakspear’s real ale. There is plenty to do in this part of the Thames Valley.

The river itself is only 7/8 minutes away and there is much to see in the market town of Wallingford, in Goring and in Streatley. Further afield are the well-known attractions in Henley-on-Thames, Marlow and Oxford. The National Trust has properties at Basildon Park, Greys Court and Beale Park has a lot to offer, particularly for children. Railway enthusiasts are well-catered for with the Didcot Railway Centre. Local activities include clay pigeon shooting, fishing, riding and golf. We all know the local area well, so can advise and help with arrangements.
