"Very good guest house"
Travelled alone and stayed in room 3 (single room). Both Ruth and Maurice were excellent hosts and served a hearty breakfast. The room was very clean and had all that was required for a stay of a few days. I was very happy for the three nights I was there. Would I stay at "The Old Vicarage" again? Yes. The only thing I would say is a light illuminating the the house sign outside on the road would help, it was difficult to see at night when arriving for the first time. Read less

The Old Vicarage, as its name suggests, is a beautiful victorian building situated opposite the historic St Boisils Church and Graveyard. We find ourselves in a very quiet corner of Berwick, yet within easy reach of the Town and the Coastline. There are seven guest rooms all with their own character and charm, one on the ground floor and six on the first floor. Each of our beautiful rooms is tastefully decorated highlighting many original features such as fireplaces. Four of the rooms overlook the Church with views to Berwick and the Coast (Rooms 4,5,6,and7). Room 8 has a roof terrace for that quiet evening drink. Room 3 is a cosy single ensuite, whilst room 2 is a double on the ground floor with a bath.

Maurice and Ruth are delighted to make their Drawing Room available for the use of guests. With an open fire and very comfortable seating, this is the spot to relax in and share the day's adventures. We also welcome bookings by groups and evening meals are available by arrangement. A North Northumberland Gold Award for Food in 2008/2009 recognised our committment to high quality and locally sourced food. We are members of the Slow Food movement and our breakfast and dinner menus feature produce from local producers.

Situated at the mouth of the River Tweed, Berwick has history around every corner. Ideally situated for exploring Northumberland's unspoilt coastline, with its fine beaches, quaint fishing villages, castles and many period houses. Join us in England's Borderland... the elegant town of Berwick is encircled by Europe's finest preserved Elizabethan fortifications. Our Georgian Town is a rich mix of regimental and army museums, modern art galleries, a theatre, leisure centre with swimming pool, excellent shops and a twice weekly busy market. Numerous golf courses including Goswick, Berwick, Eyemouth and Coldstream are also close by.
