In the heart of 'Hadrian's Wall Country' these attractive Grade II listed stone built cottages offer charming holiday accommodation to an excellent standard. Melkridge is a friendly hamlet, surrounded by spectacular countryside only 2 miles from Haltwhistle (geographically known as 'the centre of Britain') which offers many facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool (seasonal)
There is a indoor childrens play centre in Haltwhistle .
This is 'Hadrians Wall Country', an area with a rich heritage to explore - Vindolanda and Housesteads Roman Fort Museum are historic visitor attractions close by. The popular market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey, boasts many amenities including a theatre/cinema, leisure centre and splendid golf course less that 15 miles east. Carlisle is approximately 23 miles west, making this an ideal base for those wishing to explore the delights of West Northumberland with easy access to the stunning beauty of the Lake District National Park and the Scottish border region.
We are pleased to accept more than one pet.
We can make the small bedroom up with 2 single beds(folding metal with foam mattresses) if you require more flexible sleeping arrangements.
A welcome pack is provided including wine, a bowl of fresh fruit, freshly laid eggs and home made scones!
We now run La Toot,, the cafe on the market square in Haltwhistle, where you can enjoy an all day breakfast, light lunches, homemade cakes, scones etc.with 10% discount
Please be aware there is a large pond in the main garden ,small children must be supervised.
All bed linen and towels are provided
Our check in times are from 3pm
If you choose to use my deposit terms on the online booking system,the balance is due to be paid 4 weeks before arrival by cheque or card which i can take over the phone .Cancellation terms are as in terms of booking, to view see booking pages on my website. Environmental Statement
We encourage all customers to recycle their waste and provide facilities to dispose of these including compost bin and recycling bins. We also promote the use of the local public transport including bus and trains and encourage customers to leave their cars behind.we use fair trade products in our welcome pack.I have recently taken and passed level 2 award in environmental principles and best practice, since then we have changed our house hold cleaning products etc, to eco friendly ones.Toilet rolls etc are recycled .I hope to continue making more enviromently friendly changes in the future.
