If they were surprised that we made it, they did not show it! they gave good advice about feasible walks, and the winter conditions provided stunning scenery and photo-opportunities. Read less

Dilston Plains is an early Victorian house midway between Hexham and Corbridge in the historic unspoilt county of Northumberland in North East England. Explore Hadrians Wall or visit Northumberland's castles, coastline and countryside sites. Central for trips to Newcastle and the Scottish Borders. Corbridge, with its Saxon church and medieval Vicar's Pele, is near Corstopitum, the great supply base for nearby Hadrian's Wall.
Hexham, with its 12th century catheral, Haltwhistle market town and Haydon Bridge are also nearby. Even nearer the romantic ruin of Dilston Castle, home of the ill-starred Earl of Derwentwater, stands above the ravine of the Devil's Water and the beautiful 17th-century Earl's Bridge. Situated on the A695 between the historic towns of Corbridge and Hexham. We are surrounded by stunning views of countryside and our own gardens of herbs, mature conifers and orchard.
Nearby Towns - Corbridge, with its Saxon church and medieval Vicar's Pele, is near Corstopitum, the great supply base for nearby Hadrian's Wall. Hexham, with its 12th century catheral, Haltwhistle market town and Haydon Bridge are also nearby.
