Description

Self Assessed 3 Stars Guest House

Situated on the banks of the River Torridge, Yeoldon House overlooks glorious views of the rolling Devon countryside. Originally a Victorian gentleman’s residence, the hotel exudes the elegance and charm of yesteryear whilst offering all the modern comforts of a country house hotel.

Yeoldon House is situated at the end of a private drive ensuring peace and privacy at all times. The gently sloping gardens provide delightful areas to sit and enjoy the scene either in front of the hotel with a pot of tea or a glass of wine or down beside the tinkling waterfall watching the fish gliding through the pond.

Yeoldon House is central for exploring the delights of the unspoilt north Devon countryside. It is on the North Devon Coast Path and within an easy drive of Exmoor and Braunton Burrows, havens for birdwatchers and hikers. The new bypass from Barnstaple is designed to facilitate easy access to the North coast. The Oldenburg passenger ship will take you from Bideford to Lundy Island although the trip does need to be planned in advance. North Devon has a wealth of gardens open to the public including Rosemoor RHS Gardens, Tapeley Park, Docton Mill and Marwood.

Golf enthusiasts are on the doorstep of the England’s oldest links course the Royal North Devon and forty minutes from Saunton Sands. Twenty minutes drive away the fishing village of Clovelly lies nestled in the cliffs not far from the rugged terrain of the Hartland Penninsula. For those who wish to venture further a field Tintagel Castle and the delights of Cornwall are only an hour’s drive away. The Eden Project is seventy miles from the hotel. The hotel is also near the National Trust properties Arlington Court and Knightshayes.
