Description
"Arrive as a guest - leave as a friend"
The Rosedale Hotel is a 3 star family run hotel where a warm highland welcome awaits you, we are located on the harbour front in Portree with beautiful views across the bay. The hotel was originally formed from 3 Fishermen's Houses and is now a unique hotel with many stairs, low beams and an abundance of character. All 20 ensuite bedrooms are individually decorated and the original stone walls mean that all the rooms are different in size and character, unfortunately there is no lift in the Hotel, only stairs (and a lot of them)! and from 01st April 2008 the Hotel is ALL strictly NON-SMOKING.
The newly opened “Restaurant at the Rosedale” is now being run by father and son-in-law team Willie Shankie (former owner of the Edinbane Hotel) and Chef Robert MacAskill (ex head chef at The Cuillin Hills Hotel). Booking for the restaurant is advisable, as tables cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.
Dinner service will be from 6.00pm – 9.30pm and lunch from 12noon – 2pm.
Parking is very limited directly in front of the Hotel, but from 1st May to 30th September inclusive, we also have a small car park 50 yards along from the main Hotel for approximately eight or nine cars. Parking is on a first come first served basis and so unfortunately cannot be guaranteed. There are also a few Council car parks (charges apply) within walking distance.
We offer a delicious continental breakfast that includes a choice of fruit juices, cereals, grapefruit, peaches, fruit compote, melon, natural yoghurt, fruit scones. There are three platters to chose from - ham, cheese, tomato & pickle, smoked salmon, prawns, trout, peppered mackeral, mayonnaise & oatcakes or fresh fruit salad all served with croissants and bread rolls.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call, if not we hope you have a pleasant journey and look forward to welcoming you to Skye.
