We were on our way back to Cheshire from Cornwall and wanted a quiet stopover to break the journey and which took dogs. This met our every expectation. Quiet, friendly, relaxed, excellent food and as we said at the time far far better than many more or less all hotels we recently stayed at in France - in fact the French would have a lot to learn from the Farthing. Excellent food Shaun the chef creates the most sublime cuisine.This was our 4th stay at Farthings we return again and again! The entire team are always friendly ,so welcoming and polite.

It's a very quiet small village, close to Taunton/ Quantocks or the Exmoor. The property is attractive.
Room, tea/coffee good and real milk in fridge on landing.
Dislikes:
Not keen on the bed [size or type]. Feathered bedding may be a problem to some. Television had audio like a 1960's transistor radio! Clock radio alarm O.K. Shower needed some repairs.

Dislikes:
My room had an en-suite shower and I would have preferred a bath.I should have queried this when I booked.
