Our historic country house and restaurant is situated in the vale of Lorton, within a short drive of five of the Lake District’s most stunning lakes, and ideally located close to both the market town of Cockermouth and the adventure capital Keswick. As well as wonderful bed and breakfast including complimentary tea and cake in the afternoon, we offer non-resident Sunday lunches, afternoon tea and evening dining.
Whether just wanting a break away from the hustle & bustle, visiting us on business, or booking us exclusively for your special wedding or party, we’ll offer you hospitality with a big heart from the friendly team here! Come & wander in the gardens and relax on the terrace with a drink, or take a dip in the hot tub and sauna to unwind.
Our four poster rooms are perfect for a family getaway and can fit up to two extra beds. Some double rooms can also accomodate children but please contact us if you require an extra bed (£15 supplement per bed per night)
Packhorse Cottage is also available to book, and you can see photos in the gallery here as well. This beautiful cottage is perfect for a break away with family or friends. It sleeps 5, although can accommodate an extra person for a small supplement. No pets allowed. Pretty garden and off road parking.
